Brooke’s Story

I first traveled to Engeye in 2017, as a family medicine resident. Since then, I have been on four medical trips to provide medical care, education, and ultrasound training. I am a member of the medical committee and Board of Directors.

Engeye’s mission is to better the lives of the rural community through a comprehensive approach. Our organization provides educational scholarships to young students, medical care—including maternity/labor and delivery, and public health education. We also support female-owned businesses by providing start-up grant funds.

Matt’s Story

I went on my first trip in January of 2025 to help provide critical infrastructure to the clinic. Working with the Engeye scholars, we built new tables, Adirondack chairs, and repaired benches used by patients waiting for care.

I was impressed by the scholars’ abilities to learn new vocational skills and utilize their mathematical education in real-life scenarios.
